Thirty One + random thoughts

Hello, long lost friends! I turned 31 last week (eww, something about being an odd-numbered age annoys me, lol). There were a few birthday festivities to be had and I enjoyed them all. But I’ll tell you one thing I am not loving about 31 (and being an adult really) is the dental work I’ve needed 😭 A few weeks ago I had 2 temporary crowns done and today I got the permanent ones put in – I did NOT enjoy either of those festivities. The sensitivity alone is awful but it was causing me headaches, and I couldn’t drink cold water which, in and of itself is torture because I am one of those people who LOVES ice cold water. Here’s to hoping all of that is wrapped up now that the permanent ones are in🙏🏼

If the title of this post wasn’t enough of a warning, I am just going to yap about some random thoughts today (still working on the motivation/discipline to write posts more often).

You know what a friend and I have been loving? Making clay magnets! It was one of our monthly girls night themes but one friend and I have just kept making them. You can see the photo below for some of the magnets I’ve made so far! I have a few favorites of the bunch; the pop tarts, the cosmic brownie, the animal cracker (I love rhinos so obviously chose that shape), the sugar cookie and the duck. It’s been so much fun creating different miniature items out of clay – I plan to try to make a pair of earrings this afternoon! I will keep you posted on those 🙂

I am also happy to report that we are making good progress on the walking and closet organizing goals (I think I told y’all about this in a previous post) – more so the walking at the moment but the closet organizing is slowly chugging along. I am trying to use this season of my life to reframe how I utilize my hours in the day. I don’t currently have a full time job so I am trying to appreciate this time and use it for good instead of squandering it all on useless scrolling.

I think this might be my last random thought but my husband has finally gotten to drift his car! A few years ago we bought his (almost) drift ready 350Z and he drifted it for the first time last month. And now, of course, he’s gotten a taste of it and is obsessed so we have another event later this month. I am so happy for him and so proud that he got the car ready and got out onto the track (his first time drifting in almost 10 years)! It sounds so cliche but it was almost like a dream come true for him; we’ve had so many competing priorities and expenses that kept him from getting the car done over the last few years but he finally did it 🥲 Professional action shot of that track day in February below (📸: @_lowcam_ on instagram).

Anywayyyyys, that’s it for today. Anybody found a new hobby that they’re obsessed with lately? I’d love to hear about it!

Talk to y’all soon,

Xoxo, CK
